Elena Bokova grew up listening to music, and has played violin since age four. After getting her grade 10 RCM diploma, she went on to study at Capilano University's Transfer Programme in North Vancouver. She then earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Victoria, and Master of Music Performance Degree at the University of Houston, Texas. Elena has developed a passion for teaching and has taught beginner to intermediate level violin and viola for almost ten years. In addition to teaching the basics and technique, she is experienced in helping students prepare for all-state auditions and examinations, as well as show pieces for performance. Elena also enjoys performing with chamber groups as well as large ensembles. She has played in each of the Moores School Orchestras and currently enjoys playing with the West Coast Symphony Orchestra as well as chamber orchestras throughout Vancouver.
